Fernando Carreira, MD

As of July 1, 2025, Dr. Carreira is the new President of South Denver GI. He follows Dr. Rick Roman in this role, who served as President of South Denver GI for 10 years.
Dr. Carreira’s leadership experience includes two committee positions with the American Gastroenterology Association focused on underrepresented minorities in health care and government affairs, Department of Medicine Chair for Sky Ridge Medical Center from 2014-2015, and a member of the board of directors for Denver Health and Hospital Authority from 2012-2022. He joined South Denver GI in 2007
What are you looking forward to in your new role as South Denver GI president?
In an ever-changing health care environment, I look forward to working with an outstanding staff in delivering the highest quality, patient centered care in the region. As has been the case for the 50-year history of South Denver GI, we will continue embracing the new technologies in GI cancer prevention, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care and gut health.
Branden Lish, CEO

Branden graduated from Utah State University in 2001, and has been with South Denver GI for over 13 years. His strengths in team building and leadership paired with unmatched health care management skills has helped our practice to develop into the reputable business it is today. His prioritization of positive patient relationships and experiences has led to a trustworthy and professional practice environment.
Troy Keach, COO

Troy Keach is an innovative health care executive with a 20+ year record of achievement and demonstrated success. He joined South Denver GI as our Chief Operating Officer in July 2024.
Troy’s health care career started at Mayo Clinic where he supported a for-profit division of Mayo Clinic with a focus on the East Coast. Since then, Troy’s diverse executive experience includes hospital and clinic operations, mergers & acquisitions, and academic health care systems.
Throughout his career, Troy has been recognized for his integrity and interpersonal skills, while forging strong relationships with physicians, health care boards and the teams he serves.
He has been a guest lecturer at the Carlson School of Management and a past American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Acclaim Award recipient for leading change. In addition, Troy is Silver Certified from Mayo Clinic’s Quality Academy.
Troy holds an M.A. in Leadership Development and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He is an active volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
