About Nathan Schomaker, M.D.
Dr. Schomaker completed his undergraduate degree in medical technology at The Ohio State University, graduating magna cum laude. He attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine before completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at University of Colorado Hospitals. Dr. Schomaker completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Loyola University Medical Center where he served as chief fellow.
Outside of work, Dr. Schomaker enjoys international travel, hiking, golf, playing guitar, and exploring parks with his wife and son, and his Australian Shepherd, Mishka.

I believe that visits should consist of an open dialogue between patient and provider to come to a plan together by shared decision-making. By placing a high priority on listening to patients and understanding their perceptions about their symptoms, and by taking time to educate patients within the context of advanced gastroenterology knowledge and evidence-based medicine, patients are empowered and involved in their own care.
