About Frederick W. Lewis, M.D., FACG, FACP
Dr. Lewis, a Colorado native, graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1975. He has had the privilege of practicing Gastroenterology in south Denver since 1991. He is past-President of South Denver Gastroenterology and served on the SDG Executive Committee for two decades as the practice grew from a small group of dedicated doctors into one of the larger specialty gastroenterology practices in the region. Dr. Lewis has served as the primary GI consultant at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital since the 1990s.
When not working, Dr. Lewis enjoys biking, open-water swimming, skiing and snowshoeing with his wife of 34 years. He serves on the Board of the international non-profit organization “Lacrosse the Nations” which provides leadership and educational opportunities to children in impoverished communities in Nicaragua, Panama and Columbia.

I believe listening carefully to each patient’s story sets the stage for excellent gastroenterology care. I favor shared decision making, taking into account each patient’s goals and preferences along with a thorough understanding of the current science of gastroenterology. In addition, I focus on providing personal and compassionate care.
