About David Scheider, M.D.
Dr. David Scheider received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Valparaiso University in Indiana, summa cum laude. He then received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University.
His internal medicine internship and residency were obtained at Northwestern University. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Missouri. Following his gastroenterology training, Dr. Scheider completed additional advanced fellowships in Endoscopic Oncology/Photodynamic Therapy, and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Wellesley Hospital of the University of Toronto. His area of special interest is therapeutic endoscopy and enjoys practicing all aspects of gastroenterology.

The philosophy of care for my patients includes the following: I advocate a personal approach where their medical problems and personal perspectives for medical care are taken into close consideration. This requires listening and working closely with my patients in regards to their care. In particular, I try to plainly outline their possible medical conditions, pathogenesis of these conditions and treatment options. I also try to incorporate timely follow-ups with regards to diagnostic testing they have done and close follow-ups.
