About Frederick W. Lewis, M.D., FACG, FACP
Dr. Lewis, a Colorado native, graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1975. He has had the privilege of practicing Gastroenterology in south Denver since 1991. He is past-President of South Denver Gastroenterology and served on the SDG Executive Committee for two decades as the practice grew from a small group of dedicated doctors into one of the larger specialty gastroenterology practices in the region. Dr. Lewis has served as the primary GI consultant at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital since the 1990s.
When not working, Dr. Lewis enjoys biking, open-water swimming, skiing and snowshoeing with his wife of 34 years. He serves on the Board of the international non-profit organization “Lacrosse the Nations” which provides leadership and educational opportunities to children in impoverished communities in Nicaragua, Panama and Columbia.

After much reflection, and after more than 35 years in practice, I have decided to retire from South Denver Gastroenterology effective September 30, 2026. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your physician.
Caring for you and your family has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. I treasure the many moments of challenge, resilience, and healing we have shared.
Be assured my partners at South Denver Gastroenterology are looking forward to continuing your care. They share my commitment to compassionate, state-of-the-art care, and I am confident you will be in excellent hands.
